[net.periphs] Maxtor disk drives on the AT?

I am seriously considering buying a Maxtor 140 mb drive with Wang tape
backup from S-100 Inc.

Has anyone tried using this subsystem with Xenix? Are there any device
drivers out there? S-100 says they will do software support for PC-dos
but that they do not have a Xenix to try it out on. I really do not want
to go into debt in order to become a sacrificial lamb.

If you haven't used the Maxtor system but have used a drive comparable in
size with Xenix on the AT, please tell me what it is.

Thanks in advance

At the company I work for I was elected to try and find a larger disk
drive for the AT. Our AT's don't run Xenix but Venix. However I think you
will find the Information useful. If the drive you are considering is
one of the drives that the IBM AT controller supports than it will probably
work with Xenix. To check this out or to find out what other drivers you
can use call Xenix technical suport or possibley IBM tech support.
