Just recently I saw a new Manneheim Steamroller album at a local record store entitled "Interludes" which I presume is a collection of interlude pieces from their various albums. This past winter, Manneheim Steamroller performed in concert in Salt Lake City. Usually, they are just a studio ensemble. Their performance consisted of live solos, etc. built upon a studio tape with the solos, etc. left out of the mix. The two most notable members of the group are composer Chris Davis and keyboardist Jackson Berkey. Berkey taught a master class at the music department and is truly an extraordinary performer. pj drongowski at utah-cs

I believe there are 7 (maybe 8) inter- ludes in all. Along with this, you get "Amber", off of Fresh Aire 4, which is a really nice piece, and one other one (Morning off FA3?) wich I can't remember. It's a digital recording, but I'm afraid I don't know how it sounds, as I have only seen it in the record stores (I just bout FA4, it'll take another paycheck to get the next $20!). --Dave Curry decvax!pur-ee!davy ucbvax!pur-ee!davy ihnss!pur-ee!davy
