HELP!! We are planning an application for an AT&T 91B1 Control Unit and have not yet been able to locate anyone who has any experience with these beasts. They supposedly convert a 1400 bps protocol coming from an ESS switch to an RS232 asynchronous protocol acceptable to our 3Bx ports. We think that we can understand the contents of the data stream once we have shaken the 91B1's hand, but we can't get it to acknowledge our presence. (When we raise DTR, its "computer" LED stops flashing, but starts again 30 seconds later no matter what we say to it. We have tried what we think to be all 3 91B1 maintenance messages - "Keep-alive", "Send a reply", and "Reply to R=2" - with and without bytes swapped, etc. all to no avail. Datascope indicates what we sent arrived well within the 30 second timeout interval, but the 91B1 never replies and always times out). We would greatly appreciate any comments, advice, etc. from anyone who has had any experience whatsoever with these. -- ================================================================== Pat Sullivan - {akgua|akguc|ihnp4}!sortac!pls - voice 404-257-7382
