I am looking for any information regarding schemes used to manage
files stored on removeable optical disc platters (write-once devices).
The goal would be to organize the disc so that the structure of the
platter could be managed by any system which supports the physical
interconnect. (This excludes the CONTENTS of the files.) Initial
thoughts are for a single level directory ("vtoc") which would be
treated much like a magtape.
Has anyone done any work in this area?
