What the site is all about. lanl-a Los Alamos National Laboratory The laboratory is operated by the University of California for the U.S. Department of Energy, and does research and development, primarily related to weapons and energy (fission, fusion, geothermal, solar, ...) The system lanl-a is used primarily by members of the Computing Division, who are engaged in a wide variety of projects, in areas including operating systems, programming languages, system utilities, graphics, data communications, numerical analysis, parallel and distributed computation, voice I/O, and office automation.
