Not really a new site, but because we've been off so long, I thought I might post a blurb here. We are we13, the Engineering Development System at Western Electric Montgomery Works in Montgomery Illinois (not Alabama!) We manufacture all of the Bell System modems here. We like to call them Data Sets, but that sometimes confuses the IBM database folks. We exchange news, mail, and corruption with "lime" at Holmdel, "we53" in St. Louis, and "otuxa" in Oak Brook Terrace, Illinois. All of these links are currently UUCP dial-up, with the hope of a 9.6 conditioned line to Holmdel soon. AT&T Slow-Lines has been working on it for 17 months now. By then, Holmdel will be gone anyways, so what the hell. We13 will soon be giving way to a new node here at Montgomery, which will become the new Engineering system. Watch this space for further details. As a contact here, call me, Randy King (that's my name) at either (312) 859-4556 or Cornet 392-4556. Excuse my style tonight, I'm slightly burnt out. I once heard that "total technial burnout" can be diagnosed when you press the wrong floor in the elevator, then frantically look for the DELETE button. Randy King ..we13!rjk
