[net.news.newsite] introducing mit-eddie

mp (04/16/83)

Name of site.
mit-eddie (you can truncat this to 7 charact, of course)

What the site is all about.
This is a VAX 750 that's used by the EECS dept (the educational
computing facility people and members of the Research Lab for
Electronics) for text editing, SPICE, and UNIX hacking.
It replaces mitccc in your usenet maps (mitccc ceased to get
netnews because of the load and reputation it was giving to
	that system).

Name of contact person at site.
Nobody in general. Not me in particular. Send mail to usenet.

Electronic mail address of contact person.
	genrad!mit-eddie!usenet

U.S. Mail address of contact person.
	MIT EECS Dept. Computer Facility
	Room 38-390
	Cambridge, MA 02139

Phone number of contact person.
Somebody will answer 617-253-2737, but they're not terribly
likely to know what netnews is.

Systems with whom news articles are exchanged.
(what kind of link, who the neighbor(s) are).
	genrad over 1200 baud uucp.

Systems with whom mail is exchanged.
genrad, mit-ems (experimental music studio), and some other
MIT machines that call us when they feel like it. If you're
looking for someone, send us mail and we'll look them up.

Willingness (or lack thereof) to connect to new sites that
want to join usenet.

We only have one dialup, so we probably couldn't take on
any more sites. If you want to poll us for mail (I can't see
why, since nobody interesting lives here), inquire.

If you want to publish your uucp phone number, login, and password,
include that info.
	Surely you jest.
