The 4.3BSD user-contributed software distribution contains a package of routines and programs to support Xerox-style XNS network applications using Courier. Included is a stub-compiler for the Courier RPC language, a runtime library including support for Xerox-style Clearinghouse name lookup and Authentication, and applications for printing, file transfer, and virtual terminal service. A new version of this package is now available, containing numerous bug fixes and a substantial amount of code cleanup. The package has been tested against Services 8.0 and 10.0, and against the XDE, ViewPoint, and Interlisp XNS implementations. The revised package is available for anonymous ftp on either PARCVAX.XEROX.COM or WAYBACK.CS.CORNELL.EDU as ``xns/courier.4.3e.tar.Z'' (compressed format, 330 KB) or ``xns/courier.4.3e.tar'' (0.9 MB). Anyone using XNS/Courier under 4.3BSD should get a copy of these revised routines; if you don't have access to anonymous ftp, contact me and I'll try to arrange some other way to get them to you.
