In the mail header below note the two "From" lines -- the first one is "From" and the last one id "From:". The first one is correct -- the second one has dropped a machine or two from the front of the list. Using my mailer 'r' command, it trys to reply to the "From:" line and, of course, I get an error from uucp. Sometimes the second from line is just '0' -- yup, the digit zero !!! What gives?? How can I fix things to make the "From:" line always correct or have the mailer use the "From" line as the reply-to line?? I'm running 4.2BSD on a VAX 780. Thanks in advance. =========== bad mail header ==================== From mmintl!scgvaxd!seismo!gatech!pyr!isusegc Wed Jun 10 00:14:40 1987 Received: by pwa-b.UUCP (4.12/4.7) id AA18070; Wed, 10 Jun 87 00:14:36 edt Received: by ashtate.UUCP (5.51/4.7) id AA29375; Tue, 9 Jun 87 19:20:54 PDT Received: by scgvaxd.SCG.HAC.COM (5.51/smail2.2/04-02-87) id AA12156; Tue, 9 Jun 87 18:14:10 PDT Received: from gatech.UUCP by seismo.CSS.GOV (5.54/1.14) with UUCP id AA28806; Tue, 9 Jun 87 17:21:08 EDT Received: from gitpyr by gatech.edu with SMTP (5.58/7.2.GT) id AA26323; Tue, 9 Jun 87 17:17:15 EDT Received: by (4.12/7.0.GT) id AA13770; Tue, 9 Jun 87 17:18:11 edt Date: Tue, 9 Jun 87 17:18:11 edt From: seismo!gatech!gitpyr!isusegc (GLENN COLBY) Message-Id: <8706092118.AA13770@> To: pwa-b!weiss Status: RO < message deleted > ========================= end of mail header ======================= -- -->BoB Miorelli, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft also, H & R Block tax preparer and Instructor pwa-b!miorelli
