[comp.unix.wizards] retraction

mc68020@gilsys.UUCP (Thomas J Keller) (07/17/87)

I recently posted an article (from root@nonvon, a long story in itself)
in which I complained bitterly about the re-use of directory slots under
UNIX. After being BLASTED by a number of people, I did some checking, and
Lo and Behold, I was incorrect. Apparently in the last update release for
my Xenix system, Microsoft (or Tandy) got around to fixing this. The system
does, indeed, re-use directory slots.

   It didn't used to, honest!

I keep forgetting that even though for the most part, Xenix is a complete
UNIX (in this case, SYS III with a few BSD goodies) port, it is **NOT** UNIX,
and problems that I am encountering with XENIX (the several versions I have
suffered through) do not necessarily distribute over the UNIX set.

My apologies for my strident tone, and my quick temper.

	    no solutions.
