I have presented this problem on other newsgroups but received scant results so far. Before thrwoing in the towel, I thought I'd let readers of my favourite group have a go as well. Here it is. Within the past six months or so I read at least two articles about installing proper UNIX filesystems on WORM optical disks. Unfortunately my site archives only a weeks's worth of traffic before it chokes and so I have irretrievably lost the original articles. These presented a cursory outline of the procedure and, if I recall correctly, an offer to make the driver available. I have subsequently searched every archive I can access with no luck. I turn now to my fellows for assistance. Can any of you put me in touch with the authors of these articles or will the authors themselves contact me at the address specified below. The filesystem driver, as described, was NOT High Sierra but insteadn used reserved superblock tracks and a special used data block handler to maintain the integrety of the data files. My company prefers to acquire tested, proven and working software to designing its own and possibly reinventing the wheel. HELP!!! Please contact me via email at these addresses and before anyone asks, YES I'll summarize to the net if the search is successful. <gerry@syntron.uucp> or <gerry@geac.uucp>
