[net.news.newsite] The Law Society of Upper Canada

dave@utcsrgv.UUCP (Dave Sherman) (03/08/84)

People who deal with me on the net are often confused as to
the status of the Law Society of Upper Canada, since that is my
$ORGANIZATION for news postings, although I post from utcsrgv,
part of the University of Toronto.

The Law Society is not part of the University of Toronto and is
not affiliated with it in any way. The Law Society is the organization
which licenses and governs Ontario's 16,000 lawyers, and teaches
the Bar Admission Course.

The "lsuc" site is a PDP-11/23 running v7 UNIX, and it talks to
utcsrgv and utzoo via uucp link. It is used for developing and
testing CAI for teaching Bar Admission students.

"lsuc" does not run news, since I am the only non-student user
and I have access to utcsrgv for news. I can receive mail as
utcsrgv!lsuc!dave, but I log into utcsrgv daily anyway and prefer
to receive mail on utcsrgv.

I am physically at the Law Society on most working days (416-947-3466).
