sprout -- The networks group of the General Electric Company
Hirst Research Centre.
The machine is a Codata 68000 running UNIX version SEVEN.
What the site is all about.
This computer is dedicated to research into both LAN and WAN
networking.
Sprout has had Ethernet for some time now. An X25 connection
is currently being installed.
We have many UNIX machines on site, running either version
SEVEN or SYSTEM III UNIX.
Now that sprout has been established as a news site, it will
act as an news server for other Ethernet sites. These sites
will be connected via sprout to the news network shortly.
