Please help me put together a list of public domain benchmarks.

The information I would like to receive includes:

   - Description of the benchmark.
   - How to obtain source code for the benchmark.
   - References to any articles describing the benchmark or
     results obtained when using the benchmark.
   - Your opinion of the utility of the benchmark.

I will summarize my findings and post a copy to anyone who requests.
