My group is looking at putting two 68020 CPUs (each with an MMU and a physical snooping cache) in a system with a single memory space, and adapting our 4.2BSD-derived Unix to run on it. We're looking for experience in this sort of enterprise. A few years ago the "Purdue dual VAX CPU" system seemed to win general favor. Has there been any progress on this line of work? How can I get a copy of the system software enhancements for commercial exploitation? Our library of Usenix proceedings is sparse; can anyone point me to references? (I know about neat new systems like MACH, but we're constrained to adapt our existing 4.2BSD kernel and utility set. For now, at least.) -=- Andrew Klossner (decvax!tektronix!tekecs!andrew) [UUCP] (andrew%tekecs.tek.com@relay.cs.net) [ARPA]
