[comp.unix.wizards] Full Duplex on a Single AF_INET Stream Socket

jpdres14@usl-pc.UUCP (Collett Donald L) (01/02/88)

Does anyone out there know how to Full Duplex on a single AF_INET Stream Socket?
I already know how to set up two-way communications on two one-way sockets
between a client and a server but would like to set up two-way communications
using only one socket. Motivation for this is to save on resources. Any
suggestions? Thanks in advance for your advice.

I do not understand this question. Save for pipes, *all* sockets
are full duplex until shut down via shutdown().
