Subject: Patch Utility For DIFF Files, BIND Help Request
Utility To Apply Patches:
A program to apply patches (output from the diff program) is available from
simtel20.arpa via anonymous ftp. There are three files in the set named
PATCH.SHAR[1-3]. The files can be found in the directory
pd2:<unix-c.utils>.
Speaking of help, here's a question from a fledgling ULTRIX system manager
(me), who knows virtually nothing about c programming. I ftp'ed the BIND
utility from simtel20, but I have been unable to install it on our VAX
11/780, ULTRIX version 2.0. I know there is debate over ULTRIX vs. UNIX
(is ULTRIX really Ultra Unix?) and this may add fat to the fire, but has
anyone installed BIND on an ULTRIX VAX following the BIND installation
directions? If so, can I please ftp your version and try it on our VAX.
Who knows, maybe I'll even learn a little c in the process (cold shivers).
