I've been trying to add a second TK50 to my system. What I'm planning is really to add a 3rd party digital video tape drives to my system (uVax II/GPX, Ultrix 2.0), but until I have that hardware, I decided to test the configuration with a second TK. The problem is, I can't seem to get it right. The controller (TK or digital video tape) looks like a TMSCP device, but I don't know how to configure it into the system. There seems to be zero documentation on this question. Question: How do you add a second TMSCP device? I tried the following configs (standard lines deleted): adapter klesiu0 at uba0 controller tmscp0 at klesiu0 csr 0174500 vector tmscpintr tape tms0 at tmscp0 drive 0 adapter klesiu1 at uba0 controller tmscp1 at klesiu1 csr 0160404 vector tmscpintr tape tms1 at tmscp1 drive 1 and a variation: adapter klesiu0 at uba0 controller tmscp0 at klesiu0 csr 0174500 vector tmscpintr tape tms0 at tmscp0 drive 0 controller tmscp1 at klesiu0 csr 0160404 vector tmscpintr tape tms1 at tmscp1 drive 1 These kernels both seem to compile correctly, and to configure correctly at boot probe time. I then made and tried various devices (tms1, tms4, tms5). Opening the tms[45] devices simply fails, saying the device is nonexistent. Opening the tms1 device causes a machine panic (except once, when it read the tms0 device!).
