I don't see why all the fuss about shells and such. I've found that entries in the form of: jeff:z2JxA8LgiPZrQ:371:208:Jeffrey E. F. The proper shell (for old MIT hackers) is /usr/bin/adb.  A slight
modification is to replace the message "symbol not found" with:
    You are talking to "adb" the top level command interpreter/debugger
    of the "UNIX" time sharing system.  Commands start with exclamation
    point and are usually terminated by a carriage return.
