I've heard from a few sources that ca.unix was created a while back to combat the low signal to noise ratio of the usual unix groups. Thus, ca.wizards could read their own newsgroup without sifting through all the rubbish in comp.unix.wizards. However, this means that a large number of users miss out on much educational and interesting discussion between some of the real top people. I for one would like to know if ca.unix is stuffed full of fascinating insights on deep and meaningful bits of Unix. Could some of you netpeople in California please let me know? If so, would it be possible to distribute the best of it to us mortals? There could either be a mailing list, or a summary posted to comp.unix.wizards every so often. If this fails, I could always try to import it specially. I find the educational aspect of Usenet really useful in my attempt to become a fluent speaker of Unix, and would like to investigate this possible addition to the already huge flow of information.
