Name of site:

	bellcore

What the site is all about:

	Bell Communications Research, Inc.
	Morris Research and Engineering Center
	Applied Research Area

Bellcore is a "mini-Bell-Labs" owned jointly by the
seven Bell regional holding companies and formed out of the
ashes of the AT&T divestiture. Most of the employees
at this location are former AT&T Bell Labs employees (refugees?)
from the Murray Hill and Whippany locations.

N.B.! Bellcore is completely separate from and unrelated to AT&T
or any of its entities (such as AT&T Bell Laboratories).

The machine 'bellcore' is actually a Sun 170 running 4.2BSD and
acting as a dedicated uucp/mail/netnews relay for the other machines
in the company Internet. All mail going into Applied Research
may be addressed to bellcore!user; all mail leaving will appear
to have come from bellcore regardless of the actual user's machine.

Willingness to connect to new sites:

We are quite willing to give our UUCP information to anyone who
is willing to give us theirs. However, we don't want to become
a mail forwarding capital of the world, so we can only accept
	mail for people within Bellcore.
