[comp.unix.wizards] PC/NFS and 3+Share co-resident

Gerraty@pco-multics.hbi.honeywell.com (Simon Gerraty) (02/08/89)

Help.

Does anybody know the steps required to successfully run both 3COM's
3+Share and Sun's PC/NFS network software in the same PC?

The Sun documentation states that it is possible if using an Etherlink
II card in the PC. However we have not been successful in our
experiments and have been un-able to get answers from our local Sun
office.

Has any body got this working? Please reply to me via e-mail, and I
will summarise to the net.

Simon,

I don't know about 3+Share but we are working with a local company who
offer a NETBIOS interface and an SMB server that run in a UNIX environment.

If your 3+ Share is NETBIOS compatable then this might work.

I don't know if this is what you are looking for. Let me know.

tks

Yow! Will it give us multiple copies of Steve Bellovin, or just one at
a time?

(Sorry, I just had to say that. I know rn thinks it will cost the net
hundreds or thousands of dollars to do so, but ....)
