Computer Science Department, Ames, IA Lines: 20 We're trying to bring 4.3 BSD up on a VAX 8250. The tape drive we have is a DEC TU81E (a.k.a. TU81 Plus). Our current controller is a DEC KLESI-B (VAXBI bus), which is unsupported under BSD. We're willing to trade in our KLESI-B for a KLESI-U (Unibus) if it works. We're now trying to find either a driver for the KLESI-B or anyone who has experience using KLESI-U with the TU81. Both of these cards speak the DEC TMSCP protocol. I've talked with Chris Torek who did the KDB-50 (VAXBI disk controller) support, and he said that he "assumed" the KLESI-U would work (perhaps with some minor patches) with the BSD TMSCP driver, but was not sure. Has anyone tried using KLESI-U? Or in general, has anyone got the TU81 working on under 4.2 or 4.3BSD? Lee Heins EXNET Programmer, Iowa State U.
