[comp.unix.wizards] where to get webster

spolsky-joel@CS.Yale.EDU (Joel Spolsky) (03/08/89)

Can anybody tell me how to get webster up and running? i.e. where to
ftp the sources, how to set it up with a server site, etc? For the
uninformed, webster is an arpanet program that allows you to look up
definitions from Webster's dictionary from a server site.

SRI-NIC probably doesn't want to service the entire network.
Is it possible for other sites to also become servers? Where can
one get the database? How big is it? Isn't Webster's dictionary
copyrighted or something? Why didn't it have "i.e." and "e.g." last
night when I needed it?
