Just a brief thank you note to all who helped solve my dying uucico.
To summarize the problem and solution:
uucico was dying immediately after start-up. I discovered
though that it was writing to /usr/spool/uucp/.Admin/errors
In fact, it was writing 4062 error lines for every attempted
login. The problem turned out to be a non-printing character
corrupting the Permissions file (which one reply indicated
might be a likely cause.) BTW, one corrupt character in
Permissions was generating 2 errors to uucheck.
I'll now flame myself for not knowing what uucheck did, I guess I should
have looked closer. Anyway, thank you all again for getting me back
on line.
