Has anybody ever worked on a "Super-Mini-Taktell" metronome (the little red ones)? Mine was getting really slow, so I took it apart and cleaned some dust out of it, and put a little (valve) oil on a couple of bearings. That got rid of the problem, but caused a new one: the metronome now seems to prefer 5/8 time to 2/4. Of course, there are little positioning tricks I can use to get an even beat, but I'd prefer to have it work correctly on a level surface. Any suggestions for an adjustment? Go ahead and reply to the net, because it seems like 2 out of 3 musicians have eccentric metronomes. Greg Gadeholt Tektronix MDP
