BACKGROUND A Sun 3/260 running SunOS 3.5 standard from the tape. No patches installed. A MicroVax II running the latest version of More BSD from Mt. Xinu. PROBLEM I can telnet from my Sun to other Sun's running 3.5 and 4.0.1 with no problems. I can telnet to other MicroVax's running an older version of MoreBSD. However, when I telnet to the MicroVaxs with the latest version of More BSD I have problems. The local outgoing telnet goes into an infinite loop when I hit the interrupt key. This only happens when talking to the MicroVaxs running the latest More BSD. Ethernet terminal servrers that use telnet still talk fine to the MicroVaxs. When the telnet goes into the loop it can be exited using the Control-] to get to command mode, but the interactive session on the remote machine never comes back. dbx'ing the running code to try to see where it is indicates it is leaping around all over the place, but definately in an infinite loop. Can anyone offer suggestions to a possible cause/solution before I start some long code tracing in an attempt to work out what is happening?? Has this happened to anyone else ? The same problem occurs if I use a version of telnet from the (4.3?) BSD networking release.
