Hello net. I'll be glad to have your help on this problem. We made a dump for /u and a few day after we made another dump on the same tape. This time the dump was aborted resulting with a tape containing a partial dump with directories+some files and followed by the good files from the first dump. [ Isn't there any Murphy Law saying that in this case it will be the only backup you have.] Is there any convenient way to skip the bad image and analyze the rest of the tape maybe using the directories saved in the second dump ? Please e-mail, I'll summerize. -- | Israel Yedidya, Math & CS Department, Bar-Ilan U, Ramat-Gan, ISRAEL. | +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Bitnet: yedidya@bimacs | | Internet: yedidya@bimacs.biu.ac.il | | Arpa: yedidya%bimacs.bitnet@cunyvm.cuny.edu | | Uucp: ...!uunet!mcvax!humus!bimacs!yedidya | | Csnet: yedidya%bimacs.bitnet%cunyvm.cuny.edu@csnet-relay | \----------------------------------------------------------------------/ \--- If someone proves there is no God, I'll stop being religious ---/ --------------------------------------------------------------------
