get yourself a copy of Gnu's awk. It should be available for anonymous FTP from any number of major and semi-major sites, such as uunet.uu.net and prep.ai.mit.edu. You can get C source for GNU AWK from your favorite anonymous ftp source of GNU software, like prep.ai.mit.edu, tut.cis.ohio-state.edu, uunet.uu.net, ... Joe Konczal
