What EG&G Idaho is all about: (from the employee handbook)
EG&G Idaho, Inc., a subsidiary of EG&G, Inc., was formed in 1976
to operate and service the major portion of the Department of
Energy's Idaho National Engineering Laboratory (INEL).
EG&G Idaho in its role as contractor for the DOE provides a
variety of engineering-related research and development projects
in support of the nuclear reactor safety program and provides
irradiation services to the U.S. Navy. The Company's mission
also includes research and development, pilot projects, technological
assistance, and program management for DOE in alternate energy
programs. It is also involved in energy conservation on the INEL
and in providing technical management for the national effort in
industrial energy-intensive conservation processes.
