[net.music] Fogerty

reid (10/12/82)

One of the best bands coming from the recently touted '60s is, of course,
Creedence Clearwater Revival. They had one heck of a lot of hits, but they
are barely known at all any more. First of all, I wonder why you never
hear anything except "Proud Mary" or "Heard it Through the Grapevine" any
more? Think of "Green River", "Up around the Bend", "Ooby Dooby", "Pent-
house Pauper", and countless others. Where *are* they?

Well, anybody who knows anything about CCR knows that John Fogerty was just
about the whole band. He was able to record most of the cuts himself,
track by track, playing all the instruments and singing all the parts.
The question is, where is he now? I saw a partial interview of his brother
Tom, also from CCR, who has said that all the original band members are for
getting back together, but nobody even knows where John is. Apparently
even his record company communicates with him through a P.O. Box somewhere.

Playboy Magazine's Music rumors column said that there might be a forth-
coming Fogerty album. Does anybody in net.land know anything about them/him?
