[comp.unix.wizards] split resources across NFS nodes

How do NFS servers cache I-node lookup? I am trying to set up a scenario where
I have a "boot-server" that will just boot clients and have a /usr partition.
The client will get all applications and have home directories located on other machines. The client will have local swap.

How busy will the boot-server be? After the client gets booted when will the
boot-server be required to do anything? For example, any time a user executes a command that is in /usr, the server would have to provide an NFS service. What
else would be on that list?

Please mail me directly, if there is significant interest I will post to
the net.....
