I replied to this directly, then it occured to me there might be somebody else who cares.... The Jan87 SAIL magazine has an article on this. It isn't very satisfactory from a computer person's point of view, but does provide pointers to several companies. I've assumed that 'boats' implied recreational type things, not 'ships'.
