Got this one from a friend who got it from his mother-in-law (who got it from her mother). Pretty good. Carmel Corn 1 cup (1/2 lb) butter or margarine 2 cups (firmly packed) brown sugar (must be cane sugar - beet sugar crystalizes) 1/2 cup light (or dark) cory syrup (or honey) 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp vanilla 6 qts popped popcorn Melt butter over medium heat, stir in brown sugar, corn syrup and salt. Bring to boil, stirring constantly; boil without stirring for 5 min. Remove from heat; stir in soda and vanilla. Gradually pour over popped corn, mixing well. Turn into 2 large shallow baking or roasting pans. Bake at 250F for 1 hour, stirring every 15 min. Remove from oven, cool completely. Break apart. Store in tightly covered container.
