We have a Cisco ethernet terminal server here at DU. Unfortunately, to get it's ethernet address and the current time when booting, it uses the BOOTP and DATEP protocols, which BSD 4.3 doesn't seem to support. As near as we can find out, BOOTP and DATEP are newer parts of the TCP/IP protocol specification used on the ARPANet. Does anyone out there have software that runs under BSD 4.3 that implements either protocol ? Failing that, does anyone know where we could get a hold of a protocol specification for either or both ? All we know about them is above. Please send me mail telling me what of the above you have; *don't* just send it, the net's flooded enough as it is. I'll pick the closest respondent and ask him for a copy. Note that site 'udenva' is in the UUCP maps and that I have a BITNET connection also (but that machine's not on USENET). Thanks for *any* help you can give us !!! ----- Will Edgington, Computing and Information Resources, University of Denver BusAd 469, 2020 S.
