I am in need to convert about 50 meg of Dibol sources to C. Does anyone know of anyone who has done this before? Is there a Dibol to C translator program floating around anywhere? Also, if I were to buy a software package with sources, how extensively would I have to make changes to the system in order to call it my own? Would changing field names? Record/file layouts? Running it thru a translator (Language A in, Language B out)? Changes to mainline logic? Thanks...Wally

I would like to clarify a few things here: The person who made the inquiry about Dibol to C is not an employee of S.P. Dyer Computer Consulting; he has a guest account. His ORGANIZATION variable has been fixed for any future articles he posts. I spoke with him and let him know how his article might be misinterpreted. He's pretty unfamiliar with the ropes of USENET and the need for absolute clarity in a message. In this case, his juxtaposition of a question about DIBOL translators with software ownership was unfortunate and wasn't at all the message he wanted to convey. I think his fingers have been suitably fried. I hope this message will defer any further flames from far away. -- Steve Dyer dyer@harvard.HARVARD.EDU dyer@spdcc.COM aka {linus,wanginst,bbnccv,harvard,ima,ihnp4}!spdcc!dyer
