#N:harpo:6800001:000:706 harpo!mmp May 16 23:27:00 1982 The sour milk cake recipe reminded me of my favorite use for sour milk. It's super easy and good. SPANISH COFFEE CAKE 2 1/2 cups flour Sift dry (first five) ingredients together. 1 cup brown sugar Add oil and crumble as for pie crust. Remove 3/4 cup sugar 1 cup for topping. 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. salt 3/4 cup salad oil 1 cup sour milk or buttermilk Beat egg, add milk, baking powder, and soda 1 tsp. baking soda together. Then add to the dry part. Beat 1 tsp. baking powder well and pour into greased 9x13 pan. After 1 egg batter is in pan add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts to topping if desired and sprinkle on batter.
