[net.cooks] Deadly fudge

This was posted about 6 months ago, I just found out that it was lost
somewhere in BTL.

Take
2 Cups Sugar (White...)
1 C Condensed mile UNSWEETENED!
2 oz. Hershey's unsweetened baking chocolate (bakers is nfg for some reason)
1/2 tsp. salt
combine in heavy kettle.  Stir until mixed, cutting up chocolate into 1/4"
pieces.  Heat slowly until the chocolate is melted.  Beat with electric 
mixer, etc, until the miture is homogenous.
Heat, cooking slowly until soft/medium ball boundary.  Use the cold water
test, I haven't the least idea what temperature to state.
Let cool until ~125F (can touch pot, but not hold on for more than 10 sec's.)
Add
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
3 tbsp dark rum
1/2 to 1 c chopped walnuts  (optional)

Stir until mixture starts to loose glossy surface and begins to thicken
rapidly.

Pour into 6x6 buttered pan
