I am posting this for a friend who is thinking about buying an ST but would like to have a good implementation of 'vi' available. I have PC/VI from Custom Software Systems for MS/DOS, and am very happy with it. Please post replies here or mail directly to: Allan Hayduk ...ihnp4!alberta!auvax!allan Louis Schmittroth Athabasca University

I even asked about contracting to do the port for them or buying the source and they basically laughed me off. They don't see the 68000 market as being big enough to make it worth their while. Please CALL these guys and ask them about PC/VI for the Atari ST or the Macintosh or the Amiga. I use it daily and it is an excellent version of VI for MS-DOS. But I need a version of VI for the Atari ST. The phone number for Custom Software Systems is 617-653-2555. If enough people bug them maybe they'll get the idea that the 68000 is a serious market. I hope that if they port it to one 68000 they will port it to all of them. I vote for the ST myself. Jerry Nowlin (...!ihnp4!ihuxy!nowlin)
