I am looking for a "flavor" of dump(8) that will accept an arbitrary path name and dump from there, as opposed always having to dump an entire file system. Preferrably it might have an interactive mode just like restore does. It would let you browse the directory hierarchy and "add" directories or file for dumping similiar to restoring files in the inter- active mode. Has anyone ever done this kind of thing before? If I get no replies, I plan to embark on this myself, and will post to the net when I complete it (if anyone is interested). Thanks for any help in this inquiry. My environment is BSD Unix with VAXen and Sun's. Tim Ehrhart SRI International Menlo Park, CA 94025 ehrhart@spam.istc.sri.com 415-859-5842
