Help. I need an account management package, similar to mcp in spirit. Have five networked suns (more to come) all sharing one-another's disk thru nfs, and these systems are used by dozens of different courses in this university. The systems share group and passwd files through yellow pages, and the user directories are scattered to several file systems on several disks. I cannot use mcp for managing these class accounts, because it does not know/care about yellow pages. I am looking for something that can generate accounts in batches, allow uid grouping by classes (i.e. all accounts in a class are located in one contigious uid range) and can generate directory creation / removal (for cleanup at the end of the semester) shell scripts in such an environment. If somebody has already adapted mcp for a yellow-pages environment similar to ours, I can probably use it. Even if the tool(s) you may have is not too extensive, I may still be able to use it for further hacking. All help would be appreciated. regards.. oz -- You see things, and you say "WHY?"
