[comp.sources.wanted] Looking for Connect Four source

cutter@cutsys.UUCP (Bernie Hoffstadt ) (12/22/87)

There is a game called "Connect Four" that is manufactured by
Milton Bradley. It is essentially an 8x8 version of tic-tac-toe. The
idea of the game is to get four checkers of your color in a straight
line, vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. Another optional rule
(to prevent stalemates) is; the person putting the topmost checker in a
slot wins. I recently saw this game in electronic form as a diversion
for bored users of Sketch for the PC. In this game, you played the
computer; your "checkers" are indicated by an 'X', the computer's, an
'O'. A crude representation of the game is below.

	| | | | | | | | |
	|O| |*|X|X| | |X|
	|O| |X|*|O|O|X|O|
	|X|O|X|X|*|O|O|X|
	|O|X|O|X|X|*|X|O|
	|X|O|X|X|O|O|X|X|
	|X|X|O|O|X|X|O|O|
	|O|O|X|X|O|X|O|X|
	`-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-'

The winning O's are marked by an *. Note that the
winning left-upper * was put in after the X below it, which
had to go there to stop a horizontal connect of O's.

Ok, so now that you all know what I'm talking about,
does anyone know of a PD version of this game? If so, please
email me info on how I can get it. Unix sources are
preferred, with MS-Dos executables second. If anyone ELSE
also is interested, email ME, and I'll see that you get
whatever I come up with. If I don't get anything within a
couple of weeks, I'll consider writing my own version.

Thanks, all.
