I was never very fond of Elvis Presley, but the final blow for me was listening to an interview of a fan waiting outside Graceland's gate shortly after Elvis' death: "Ah luv El-vis", the man drawled. "El-vis wuz thee first to in-te-grate rock-n-roll and cuntry music into a co-hesive art form, and Ah luv him. When he died, Ah felt as tho part ov me had died with him. Ah only hope that Ah may be able to pattern mah life after his...." The man stopped talking in order to sob more effectively. Someday I'd like to go to Nashville and see if the guy got a chance to fulfill his dream. I'll just look for a fat guy wearing sequins, eating fistfulls of pills with one hand as he randomly fires a pistol with the other. Maybe he'll be singing "Hound Dog" in front of the gates at Graceland. Ken Rhodes
