Orange Crisps
Ingredients
1 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 Tbs orange juice
1 egg
1 tsp grated orange rind
21/2 cup sifted allpurpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
Method
Cream the shortening. Gradually add the sugars and the
orange juice, creaming the mixture completely. Add the egg
and the orange rind. Sift the flour, salt, and soda
together and add gradually to the creamed mixture a little
at a time.
These cookies are baked on an ungreased cookie sheet at 375o
for 10-12 minutes. They may be formed with a cookie press,
dropped, or the dough may be rolled, chilled, and cut into
thin slices.
