Velvet Cookies Ingredients 1 cup butter or shortening 2 Tbs creamy peanut butter 1 cup confectioner's sugar 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 tsp almond extract 2 cup sifted allpurpose flour 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt Method Cream the butter and the peanut butter together. Gradually add the sugar and cream well. Add the unbeaten egg and the vanilla and almond extracts. Sift the flour, salt, and the baking powder together and add to the creamed mixture a little at a time. These cookies are baked on an ungreased baking sheet at 375o for 8-10 minutes. They may be pressed from a cookie press, they can be dropped, or the dough can be rolled, chilled, and sliced relatively thin.
