[ cross posted to comp.unix.xenix, comp.sources.wanted, and comp.binaries.ibm.pc because of the diversity of my need... ] I need to get a newer version of arc, both in source and MS DOS binary form, than version 5.12 (which is what I currently have source for on my SCO Xenix 2.2.1 system) and newer than 5.20 (which is the binary I currently run on my MS DOS 3.21 partition)... I have been finding archives on occasion that arc 5.12 and 5.20 couldn't handle, yet I don't recall hearing of a newer one. If anyone can offer the sources/binaries or any information thereabout, please mail me. Thanks! If anyone can offer >the sources/binaries or any information thereabout, please mail me. This is probably due to the fact that PKARC, a ARC variant, was used to create the archives. PKARC also will use a 13-bit Lempel-Ziv compression technique to further compress files, whereas ARC only goes up to 12-bits. The latest version of ARC is 5.21 (major release 5, minor release 2, teensy-weensy change 1 :-) PKX35A35.EXE is available for download from the Clarkson University Heath User's Group bulletin board in F)ile area 1 at (315) 268-6667 (300/1200/2400), if you can't find it on a bulletin board locally. It also available from the bulletin board via anonymous ftp at 128.153.13.196.
