Does anyone have or know where to get the source to any Hershey fonts. I would appreciate any information. If you do have the source(s) please post them in comp.sources.misc. Thanks in advance, John Humphrys apollo!humphrys Apollo Computer Chelmsford, MA (617) 256-6600 x7717

The Hershey stroke fonts, and a number of other useful data files, such as the KST fonts (139 fonts, specify TeX or bitmap format), various maps, and Webster's Second Dictionary (words only) can be obtained from The Austin Code Works 11100 Leafwood Lane Austin, Texas USA 78750-3409 (512)-258-0785 which collects public domain software and distributes it for modest fees. The Hershey fonts, for example, are $15. I once ordered something from these people, and it came, and it worked. John Nagle

A version of the Hershey Fonts is available (at no charge) from MOD.SOURCES over CSNET, Topic "hershey". It consists of 5 files. A sample Fortran program for plotting them is also included. An interesting additional entry also available from this source is a C program to convert Hershey Fonts to 'vfont' raster format (topic "her2vfont"). The original Hershey Fonts can still be purchased from the U.S. government (through NTIS?) but I would recommend the above source since it is the same data but formatted in a more convenient manner.
