[comp.sources.wanted] HELP -- GIF FORMAT

her3@sphinx.uchicago.edu (Benjamin 'Drew' Herman) (03/06/88)

[---------------------- munch munch munch ------------------]

I'm new to this part of the net so forgive me if this has just been discussed.

It seems to me that the new Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) developed by
Compuserve is now all the rage in computer land. But for the life of me
no-one will tell me what it is!!!! I assume what's happening is that
everyone but me knows and assumes some one else will tell me.

IT'S JUST NOT GOING TO HAPPEN... PLEASE, I BEG YOU, LET ME IN ON THE SECRET.
I don't have access to cozmpuserve and cannot ask directly from the source.
I tried calling and was offered a program to encode and decode GIF but no
help on the format. I'd rather have a hundred answers than none.

Thanks in advance,

Thanks to all who sent the format ( the entire documentation by some ).
If you waited to send don't bother I've got it.
Thanks again.
Ben

I am very interested in the GIF format also. Could someone send it to me too?
