When I listen to Elvis P or watch him on the tube in one of his many memorable movies, I feel entertained by one of the greatest rock stars of all time. He was certainly ahead of his time in style and mannerism. Turning from hip shakes, he could sing a lullabye as well as anyone. Although I grew with the Beatles and at one time considered them they greatest rockers, I must admit Elvis is just as listenable today. Today there is Elvis C. He may be a fad. He may be opportunistic. He may not sing as well. Or look as well. Or dance as well. But he is here today. In fact I saw his show in Forest Hills 2 months ago. NOBODY writes songs like this guy. When was the last time you saw the king?
