Does anyone have the source to the Un*x game search? It's sort of a trek-type game, multiplayer -- you fly around a galaxy in real time with other players, trying to turn them into scattered particles, etc. :-) Any leads/source would be appreciated.. :-) -dg- Internet: dave@clutx.clarkson.edu BITNET: dave@CLUTX.Bitnet uucp: {rpics, gould}!clutx!dave Matrix: Dave Goldblatt @ 1:260/360 "We don't care. Somewhere around is a version that uses TERMCAP and Network connections to have a trully distributed game. Search used to open up your terminal and write to it with a bunch of terminal specific code. I'll see if I can dig it up. We did it at BRL to demonstrate the effectiveness of distributed communications in battlefield management. -Ron Enjoy the Shankar's Revenge!

[one for the line eater] About a month ago I posted a request for the source to search, a real-time multiplayer "Star Trek<tm>" sort of game. Basically, players fly around the universe shooting each other into subatomic particles. Great to play with friends. :-) Anyhow, I received one or two responses saying "I've seen it, let me find out where", but I've not heard anything since then. If anyone knows where the source code can be had, please let me know.. -dg- -- Internet: dave@sun.soe.clarkson.edu or: dave@clutx.clarkson.edu BITNET: dave@CLUTX.Bitnet uucp: {rpics, gould}!clutx!dave Matrix: Dave Goldblatt @ 1:260/360 ICBM: Why do you want to know? :-)

A while back I took someone else's multi-player, real-time, Star-Trek type game and rewrote it to run on BSD, SYSV, Xenix, ... . Its real tricky in that you play in an infinite 3D universe. Warning: its also very floating-point compute intensive. Send me Email if you'd like the source. Dan Rosenblatt Sigma Design, Inc (303) 790-9080 (voice) ...!udenva!koala!dir
